M/s. Ajit Mathews is a contemporary studio practice, offering Architecture & Interior Design solutions with respective Project Management Services. Established in 1996 in Ahmedabad, India, the two decades plus experience has presented ample opportunities to create and recreate spaces with diverse typology, scale and topography. An ethical and cordial work culture with a thriving team has enabled the firm to be an idea hive to satiate all of Client’s design needs.

M/s AM believes in the architecture that interacts with people in a tangible sense by designing various spaces of varying functionality and context, enabling to perceive the human presence in any form. The design acts as the threshold between the inside and outside, resonating the interaction between them in physical and metaphysical sense.

The firm strives to create an ensemble that can be acknowledged, accepted and appreciated through various cultures, topography and time period. Contemporary style of work with Indian roots has steered the firm towards modernity by symbiotically entangling the function and the context of the space.

AJIT MATHEWS Principal Architect

Ar. Ajit Mathews established the firm in 1996. He heads the studio with the grit and wisdom of his 30 years of practical experience and copious curiosity of a fresher, thus guiding the team through various dimensions of design solutions. Open-mindedness, keen attention to detail, and an abiding emphasis on learning are his core ideologies. His prior learning and work experiences with Ar. Neelkanth Chaya and HCP Interior Architecture Pvt. Ltd (HCPIA) has its influence on his outlook on architecture as a whole. Primarily a teacher by core, he has been a visiting faculty in various Architectural Colleges in and around Ahmedabad and strives to pass on his knowledge and experience to guide the next generation of budding designers towards a sensible and meaningful future in ‘Design and Detailing’.
